DESCRIPTION

The 1771-AF module is a fiber optic converter module. It is available from the PLC 5 series. The 1771-AF fiber optic converter module only needs 1 slot in an Bulletin 1771 chassis for installation. This converter module supports point to point configuration and it can communicate with another device that is up to 6500 feet or 2 kilometers away. The operating temperature range of the 1771-AF fiber optic converter module is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and the storage temperature range is from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

1771-AF Fiber-Optic Converter Module; Allows DH+ and Remote I/O signals to travel over fiber-optic cable for routing through electrically noisy environments; converts twinax electrical signals to light (for transmission over fiber-optic cable), and then converts the light back to electrical signals (for transmission on twinax). Supported Communication Rates: 57,600 bit/s and 115,200 bit/s; Current Load: 600 mA. Fits into one slot of 1771 I/O chassis
