The DS3800NGDC1A1A is a ground detector board manufactured by GE as a component for their Mark IV/Speedtronic series. This series, designed for gas/steam turbine control, can automate some procedures for the turbine system including shut down and startup. It can also help maintain safe operating parameters and help keep the turbine system running within those parameters.

The DS3800NGDC1A1A is built with three transistors. Two of these transistors are small, but the third is a larger Motorola NPN power transistor with a heat sink installed. It has four integrated circuits. It is also built with six test points (TPs.) It is worth noting these TP test points are labeled TP0 through TP5, as TP0 acts as a ground.

The DS3800NGDC1A1A is built with one male 3-pin header. This is located along one edge of the board. Ninety degrees from this component, placed opposite each other, is one two-position PCB terminal block, and one five-position PC mount terminal strip.

The DS3800NGDC1A1A is built with multiple capacitors, resistors, and diodes. Included among these are Seacor polyester DC foil and film capacitors (600V) with axial leads, and capacitors rated 25V 100 μf. There are cement wire wound resistors (three) placed on one side of the board; two are lifted off the board by the use of nylon pins.

Other components on the DS3800NGDC1A1A include spare PTH and snap-in PCB screw mounts. The board is factory-drilled for mounting.
