The 1756-M22 module is a 750 KB non-volatile memory module for ControlLogix 5555 controllers. ControlLogix controllers with which the 1756-M22 module is compatible include the 1756-L55, 1756-L55M12, 1756-L55M13, 1756-L55M14, 1756-L55M16, 1756-L55M22, 1756-L55M23, and the 1756-L55M24 controllers. To prevent damage to the memory module, the battery must be disconnected from the controller before installing or replacing the memory module. The installation or replacement of the 1756-M22 module on the ControlLogix 5555 controller requires the following 4 steps: removing the side plate of the controller, removing the existing memory board, installing the new memory board, and replacing the controller side plate. Labels can be placed on the side of the controller to identify the type of memory board that is installed.
